Getting Started With Labview ( Chapter 2 )



Chapter 2 - Customizing a VI


In this chapter 2, student learned how to open a blank VI and add structures and Express VI to the block diagram in order to build a new VI.

Student learned how to build a VI that can generates a signal, reduced number samples of the signal and display the resulting data in front panel table. Below are the steps in order to complete this task.



STEPS :



Step 1 : Opening a Blank VI.






Step 2 : Adding and Searching Help (opening Context Help)




Click the question mark and the Context Help will appear
Context Help is a box that show information and the function of a tool




Step 3, 4 & 5 : Adding an Express VI that Simulates a Signal, Searching the Help and Modifying the Signal and Customizing a User Interface from the Block Diagram.









Step 6 : Configuring a VI to Run Simultaneously until the User Stops It.





* The switch is off. Thus does not record the mean values.



* The switch is on. Display mean values of every 25 samples of the sine wave.



Step 7 : Using the Error List Window.

Step 8 : Controlling the Speed of Execution by using Time Delay Express VI and enter the value of delays for example in this task using 0.25s time delay.

Step 9 : Using a Table to Display Data by using the Express Table indicator on controls pallets search.

Step 10 : Searching for Examples where students can search and learn about informations and specific examples in order to complete certain task using this Labview. 


By following these steps and instructions, students manage to complete this task.
